Three Things That Have Shifted the Way I Do Things

1. The Power of a "Check List": One of the most significant shifts in how I manage my daily life is the use of a checklist on my phone. This simple tool has become essential. If something doesn’t make it onto the list, it simply doesn’t get done because I can’t rely on my memory alone anymore. This checklist helps me stay organized, on track, and ensures that important tasks don’t slip through the cracks. When I first had my explosion, or my AVM burst, I couldn’t remember anything, everything was so bad. I would forget that I was supposed to bring something to PT until I was at PT! And then sometimes I wouldn't even remember then, it would take my therapist’s question of whether I brought it, for me to remember. So, now, I have a check list to remember everything!
2. Prioritizing Rest: Sleep has become a non-negotiable part of my routine. I now go to bed at 8 PM and wake up at 7 AM. This consistent schedule ensures I get the rest my body and mind need to function well. Good sleep is crucial for my overall well-being, and by prioritizing it, I’ve noticed a positive impact on my energy levels and mood throughout the day. When I don’t get enough sleep, forget it! I used to get about 10 hours of sleep, from 11 pm to 9 am. So, I've always been a sleeper!
3. Embracing an "I Survived" Attitude: The third and perhaps most profound shift is my attitude towards life. I’ve adopted an "I survived" mindset, which constantly reminds me that I’m alive and that in itself is something to be deeply grateful for. This perspective has given me a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude, helping me to focus on the positive aspects of my life and approach challenges with resilience and determination. We are warriors!! And, we kick ass!!
All 3 have become priorities for me too! Thanks for the reminder! I'm prioritizing rest right now
